I GOT A JOB!!!

About 40 minutes ago I got a call from Rich, the division manager at Walco. He informed me that I got the job I had interviewed for on Monday!! I'M SO EXCITED TO FINALLY BE EMPLOYEED!!! (Dusty is also excited!!) It is going to be so nice to have my own income and to finally be contributing to mine and Dusty's bills. For those of you who don't know what Walco is I will explain. Walco Animal Health is a leading distributor of animal health products and supplies. I will be working in sales so I will fill orders for customers and ship products to other places. My dad has been getting all of his medicine for our cows from Walco for years. The people there are all very friendly. I am so excited to have gotten the job!! Hopefully this job will open up doors of opportunities in the future.

On another note...I got a haircut today. I got about 2 1/2 inches cut off today. I'm not sure if Dusty will like because he liked my hair when I had to longer. However, I am tired of the added length and weight and I simply needed a new look. I like it...and I guess that is all that matters!!

Sleepover With Brayden & Hailey

This past weekend Dusty and I were asked to baby-sit Brayden and Hailey while Jess and Chris headed to Billings for Chris's birthday. We met up with Chris, Jess, and the kids at Dusty's Grandma Mary's (Dukart) 80th birthday party. Brayden was having a blast playing catch and wrestling with all the other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hailey was content hanging out in Auntie Katie's or Uncle Dusty's lap. Chris and Jess quietly left the party to begin their drive. Brayden was so excited to have Dusty and I spend the night with him and Hailey. Hailey wasn't quite as excited, but she managed. When we left Grandma's birthday party we went to Runnings to get a birthday present for Chris. Brayden and Hailey picked out a shirt and a fencing plyers for their dad. Brayden wanted his dad to have a fencing plyers just like the one he had gotten from Dusty for being in our wedding. Before we left Dickinson we stopped at Dairy Queen to get the kids slushies. They love slushies and we were willing to do anything to keep them happy.

While we were driving back to Killdeer, Hailey started crying and saying, "Mom." Brayden was quite annoyed and kept telling her it would be fine. We also kept reminding her that she would get to see Dolly (their dog) when she got home. This seemed to make her feel a little bit better. Once we got home and everyone put their pajamas on, Brayden and Hailey got their second or possibly third or fourth wind. They ran around playing football and with Dolly. After a while they settled down and Brayden ended up falling asleep on the couch with Dusty and Hailey fell asleep in the chair with me. Brayden slept the whole night in his bed and Hailey slept until 9 am with Dusty and I.

On Saturday morning we headed out to Dusty's parents' because they watched the kids the rest of the weekend. We also attended Dusty's work picnic on Saturday night. My horseshoes partner and I beat Dusty and his partner. In fact, we were the horseshoe champions...I scored the winning points both games.

On Sunday we went to a picnic at St. Stephen's Catholic Church (the church my family goes to and where Dusty and I got married). It was a lot of fun to catch up with all of our family friends and see all the little kids running around and having fun with each other.

This past weekend was so enjoyable. Dusty and I had so much fun with our families and friends. It was a perfect summer weekend filled with lots of good conversation, laughs, and fun. I hope we can get a few more in before the end of the summer.

County Fair Review

Last weekend was the Hettinger County Fair. Both mine and Dusty's families have been very involved in 4-H. Dusty and I were both in 4-H for at least 10 yrs. My sister Lindsey and brother Aaron, as well as Dusty's sisters Jessica, Becky, and Katie have all been very active in 4-H. This year Aaron decided it would be his last year in 4-H. He showed a heifer, a steer, and market chickens. Yes...chickens. For quite a few summers now, Aaron has bought chicks and cared for them. He then sells them after we have butchered (for lack of better words) them. He decided to start taking chickens to the fair because he could get a little more premium money. His chickens received a blue ribbon and he had Grand Champion Breeding Beef and Grand Champion Market Steer. He was also the Grand Champion Senior Showman.

For as long as I can remember my grandma and grandpa Friedt have come to watch us show at the fair. This year our cousin Nick, his wife Jacey, and their two little girls Isabelle and Aliyah came back for Nick's 10 yr class reunion. They decided to come check out the show. Izzy had so much fun. She wore her little pink boots and fell in love with one of my necklaces with a heifer pendant immediately. (I may have found an idea for her birthday present). She had fun petting Aaron's heifer and drinking the pop Great-Grandma Friedt gave. I definately think Izzy will be seen in the show ring a few years down the road. Jacey's family shows and I don't doubt Izzy will join them.

Last Friday I also got to hang out with one of my good high school friends, Jasmine. She and I were able to do quite a bit of catching up and grabbed lunch together. Her oldest brother's family also ate lunch with us. When we were done, I went back to we went back to her brother's house to hang out with his 3 kids a little more. Jazlyn, the middle child, was loads of fun. She was very entertaining. I was even able to snap a cute picture of her. She decided to put her little sister Jada's swim diaper on her head and then put my sunglasses on. She is such a little goofball, but will surely brighten your day. Enjoy!!

Candid Wedding Pictures Are Coming!!!

I AM SO EXCITED FOR TOMORROW AFTERNOON!!! My good friend Lynsey is heading our way with her significant other tomorrow afternoon. With her, she is bringing our candid wedding pictures she took and has now finished editing. I got a sneak peak of them on Facebook a few nights ago and I can't wait to see the rest. The few she posted on Facebook looked amazing and Dusty and I were so happy with how they turned out. Lynsey does amazing work and is such a talented young woman. She has taken a ton of pictures and has a blog where she has posted some of her work. I encourage you all to take a look. Lynsey also took some engagement pictures for us, which, despite the changing weather, turned out really, really well. I hope you enjoy!! Lynsey, I hope you keep up the hard work and can someday take pictures of mine and Dusty's future children. Thank you for all of the wonderful pictures you have already taken!!! You are truly amazing!!

4th of July Recap

Dusty and I had a very quiet 4th of July. We worked in the apartment and managed to get our kitchen table assemble, the new bedding put on our bed, and are now able to walk into our spare bedroom. The evening of the 4th we listened and watched fireworks from our apartment...yes...our apartment. There were fireworks going off on quite a few of the driveways around our apartment.

On Saturday we were in Bismarck and decided to go to the rodeo in Killdeer with Dusty's family. We ate pizza with Dusty's sister Jess and her husband Chris. Their kids, Brayden and Hailey were very excited to see us and couldn't wait to show us their newly painted rooms. AFter supper we headed to the rodeo. Brayden and Hailey (our nephew and niece) had a lot of fun. They laughed and talked the whole time. When we left their house after the rodeo they were wound up...we may or may not have had something to do with this. We did bring them gummi bears and pop with the pizza prior to the rodeo. I'm sure we will be repaid in a few years when we have our own children.

Brayden has so much fun w/ Dusty. They get along so well!!!

After this past weekend, I can't wait for Dusty and I to spend more weekends with each other and our families. Even though there was no 4th of July party, I still enjoyed the holiday and am proud to live in America and so thankful for the service men and women who put their lives on the line everyday to defend my freedom. Thank you.

Whirlwind Weekend

WOW!!! What a weekend last weekend was?!?! Dusty and I said "I do" in front of all of our friends and family on Friday afternoon (June 25, 2010). The wedding was a blast!! Dusty and I had so much fun, but continue to wish we could have slowed the day down so we would have had more time to enjoy it. Our friends had so much fun catching up and dancing the night away. I am so glad they were able to make the trip to southwestern ND. I am very thankful for all of the help Mary, Lindsay, Lynsey, and all of my family members were able to give us. There will be pictures to come!!!

On Saturday we opened gifts and then my brother, Aaron and I headed to Williston with two Hereford heifers so he could show at the North Dakota Junior Beef Expo. After a delay due to pick-up problems, we finally got the heifers to Williston. Aaron showed on Sunday. We showed an April heifer and a January heifer. Both heifers won their class and the January heifer was selected as Reserve Champion Hereford Heifer. We were both very pleased with the show. The ND Jr. Hereford Assc. also had their annual field day in Williston. Aaron was the Grand Champion Senior Hereford Showman. Way to go Aaron!!! Keep up the hard work!!! (Pictures are coming...I promise!!!)

When I got back on Sunday, Dusty had made a nice romantic supper with candles, flowers, and a bottle of French wine (straight from France) we received as a wedding gift from our Jamie May. He had set our coffee table since we don't have a kitchen table. Everything was fabulous. The wine and food were delicious. I was completely surprised and he definately took my breath away!!! He is such a wonderful husband!! Dusty had also hung up one of our favorite wedding presents....a picture of three Hereford calves we received from our friends Matt, Tom, and Jake.

Now Dusty and I are trying to fit everything in our apartment. I continue to sort through things and try and find homes for them. Dusty and I already have a busy weekend planned for this weekend. We plan to go to Bismarck to take a few things back, get a kitchen table, and pick up a few things we didn't get at the wedding. Saturday night we plan to hit up a rodeo in either Killdeer or Dickinson. I'm not sure how we end up cramming so many activities into one weekend, but at least we know it won't be boring!!
